What Is 50/50 e-liquid?
Basically, 50/50 e-liquid is a vape juice with a balanced 50% ratio of the main e liquid ingredients; propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine. These ingredients are otherwise known as PG & VG and are important in helping you choose the right type of e-liquid for your vape.
Why Choose a 50/50 e-liquid?
A 50/50 e liquid contains a balanced 50% ratio of both PG & VG. This makes for a well-rounded vape juice that is appropriate for the majority of kits, tanks and coils. Depending on the coil and power settings of your device, 50/50 vape liquids will produce a subtle to medium density vapour with good flavour and a subtle to medium throat hit, depending on the nicotine strength. What Is PG & VG?
Firstly, PG stands for Propylene glycol. This is an organic compound in the form of a thick, colourless liquid with a slightly sweet taste. Propylene glycol is added to e-liquids as a thickener and base. Its presence in e-liquid provides you with that “throat hit” which is usually linked to the sensation of smoking.
Secondly, VG stands for vegetable glycerine. It is very similar to propylene glycol in that it is odourless, colourless and has a faint sweet flavour. It is used to thicken the consistency of e-liquid, which in turn creates the dense vapour clouds associated with vaping.
What Is a Throat Hit?
Throat hit is often used in relation to vaping and describes the sensation you get at the back of your throat when inhaling smoke or vapour. Smoking a tobacco cigarette creates this sensation, therefore it’s often a great option for new vapers making the switch from cigarettes.
